  9.  AB    OBJECTIVE: 1) To determine the use of the ADA test as an indicator of
  10.        evolution of the HIV infection. 2) To evaluate the correlation between
  11.        the ADA test and the CD4+ linphocytes count values. 3) Put forward
  12.        values for the ADA test equivalent to CD4+ ones in the CDC
  13.        classification. METHODS: One hundred and ten HIV positive patients; both
  14.        sexes, average age: 28 years old, were studiet; 33 percent of the
  15.        patient studied had some kind of the infection. They were classified
  16.        according to the CDC classification, April 1992; 30 HIV negative
  17.        patients were used as controls for ADA test. The linphocytes CD4+ were
  18.        counted up by flow citometric and the ADA test by colorimetric method.
  19.        RESULTS: TABULAR DATA, SEE ABSTRACT VOLUME. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS:
  20.        1. The ADA test can be considered as a useful marker of the evolution of
  21.        the infection by HIV. 2. It was observed correlation between ADA test
  22.        and CD4+ linphocytes count taking into account the CDC classification.
  23.        3. ADA values equivalent to the suggested ones by the CDC for the
  24.        CD4+count can be established. 4. In the 2 degree and 3 degree stages, in
  25.        presence of some kind of the TBC, It was observed that the ADA test
  26.        value was 40% above the corresponding one to the stage.
